oh, george

So, my husband and I both love George Michael.  Of course we grew up with Wham! and all of George's hits of the 80s and early 90s, just like everyone of our generation...but we also loved some of his later, lesser known music.  So a few months ago when they announced George's 25Live tour, Scott suggested that we go to the show in Houston.  Scott had to endure some teasing from his fellow firefighters, but we were both excited about going.  As the concert date grew closer, however, I started to wonder if it would really be worth it...it was a bad time for me to be out of the office, the trip (hotel, gas, etc) was going to be expensive, and it meant making arrangements for both of the boys during the work week, which is always difficult.  But the tickets had already been purchased, so off to Houston we went on Monday afternoon.  And let me tell you, I'm so glad we did.

It was clear from the first song that this show wasn't about promoting a new album or breaking away from the early hits...as George told us, he was simply celebrating his 25 year career.  He sounded fantastic, he did all his trademark moves, and we got to take a trip down memory lane.  Thanks for a great night, George.

Great to hear that you went anyway. Good for you guys. I saw him a billion years ago in Dallas, the Faith tour. It was one of the best shows I've seen!!

Since I just found you on FB and then found your blog I am looking quickly thru old posts to catch up. I can't believe you like George Michael. My husband and I have also followed his entire career. Since we lived in Houston for a while and still have a good friend there we seriously considered going to this concert. In the end we didn't go but our friend did. That is too funny that we could have run into each other or even still have some of the same likes!
