I know I probably shouldn't be making comparisons between my two sons, especially at these young ages when kids develop so differently, but I find myself doing it anyway. As in, "Gage never
whatever" or "Beck is so much more (or less)
this, that or the other than Gage was at this age"... I guess it's inevitable when you have more than one child, but I don't want Beck's every accomplishment (or failure) to be judged in comparison to his big brother. As an only child, my parents always made me feel like my achievements were wonderful and unique (and I guess for them they really were) and I think that's something every child deserves. But maybe I don't need to worry...so far, Beck seems determined to outdo his brother. He crawled earlier, stood up earlier, got his first teeth earlier. Maybe he's finding ways to distinguish himself from his brother already, and remind us that he may be Gage's little brother, but he's also so much more...

It's so hard not to do it. I try my hardest, but sometimes it's so impossible. Luckily you have two of the best, that's for sure!!
