I absolutely love college football, and of course Texas Longhorn football above all else. My passion for football started relatively late in life...I think I attended my first Texas football game when I was in law school (after having already spent 5 or 6 years at UT!) But before long I was hooked (no pun intended), and I think it's fair to say that now I am by far the biggest fan in my family. I've even learned to love the NFL, and on any given Saturday or Sunday I would be perfectly happy to spend the entire day watching whatever games happened to be on. Of course my viewing schedule has been seriously curtailed since my two sons came along, but I'm hopeful that one day they will want to watch with me! I used to think there would be nothing better than having a son who played football, but I have to say that now I'm not so sure...the game looks a lot move violent when you imagine one of your own offspring taking the hits.
To kick off this season, I attended the Mack Brown Women's Clinic again this year...what a fabulous time! I didn't even mind waiting in line for half the night to shake hands and get a picture and autograph from Coach Brown. Last year I got my own football signed, this year it was a helmet for Gage that I will save until he's a little older and can appreciate it. Next year, something for Beck!

For the season opener, we invited some friends over to cook out and watch the game on pay per view. With four boys age four and under, I can't say we saw much of the game, but it was fun to share the excitement of game day with good friends and fellow Longhorn fans.
