diamond in the rough

I am not a baseball fan.  And that's saying something, because there aren't many sports I don't like or won't watch.  But I just can't get into baseball...it's too slow and I don't like the uniforms, the scratching or the spitting.  But if there's one person who dislikes baseball even more than I do, it's my husband.  He has already issued a royal proclamation that neither of our boys will ever play baseball...don't even get me started.

So anyway, seeing as how we are not big baseball fans, we had never been to the Dell Diamond for a Round Rock Express game until last night, when my firm hosted a party there.  I can't say we watched much (or any) of the game (I think Nashville was already ahead by about 10 runs in the second inning anyway), but it was an absolutely fabulous place for an energetic 3 year old!  Who knew there was a mini-theme park inside the stadium?  (Well, probably most people did, but not us...)  Gage took full advantage...played on the playscape, slid down the blow up slide about a hundred times, swam in the pool, ate multiple hot dogs and cookies, ran up and down the right field hill, and...his favorite...jumped on the "bungee trampoline."  (Unfortunately, I didn't get a shot of him really high...still getting used to the camera on Scott's iPhone.)

I don't think you'll hear Scott humming "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" anytime soon, but even he had to admit it was a pretty cool place to spend an evening.

Love this post, glad you had a great time. The title is my favorite--so clever!

So sweet. I'm so glad I got to see him last night. Sorry it was crazy as ever at the Russell abode.
