To the movies we went, just Mommy and Gage
This was quite special, let me set the stage
It was Gage's first time to the movies you see
And to make it more special, it was just he and me
Horton Hears a Who is the one that we chose
We've read the book through so it's one that he knows
The tickets were purchased, the popcorn was bought
And we arrived in our seats right on the dot
The previews were funny, the candy was sweet
Most of all Gage loved the fold up and down seat
But within just mere minutes of Horton appearing
I sensed that the end of this outing was nearing
According to Gage, it was too loud and too dark
And he no longer wished for his rump to be parked
I tried to convince him but it wasn't to be
There would be no more Horton for him or for me
At first I was sad, but what could I do
But get back in the car and move on to plan two
To the mall and the car wash and for groceries we went
We talked and we laughed and here's what it meant
That we didn't need Horton or even a Who
With the ones that you love, it matters not what you do
So I'll try not to fret when my plans go astray
And remember the lesson I learned from today

Sounds perfect!!
YOU did not just do that. You're amazing.
oh my goodness...that is precious!
You amaze me!! loved it!
BRILLIANT!!!!
**Also** Glad you could just "let go"...I might have had a panick attack right there on the spot. Just for future, I've learned that even 4 year olds aren't QUITE ready yet. As soon as they start to "zone out" on the tv for a full hour...then they are ready for the big time!! :)
