On the way home from school yesterday, I asked Gage what he had eaten for lunch. (This is one of his favorite topics to discuss...on the way to school, it's "what's for breakfast?" and on the way home it's "what was for lunch?" and "what's for dinner?") After thinking for a moment, he replied "talking feet." What? "Mom, YOU KNOW, talking feet." No, I didn't know. After a few minutes, he clarified, "Actually (one of his favorite words), they were
talking toes." Okay. I could tell he was frustrated that I couldn't figure out what he meant, but I was at a loss. After we got home, the conversation was forgotten in the nightly rush of dinner-play-bath-play-read-bed. But I got a good laugh later when I remembered to check the school lunch menu and saw that they had served "TAQUITOS." I guess we really need to consider Spanish lessons.
