shop-not-aholic

I hate shopping for clothes. What used to be one of my favorite activities has become a dreaded chore. I want to look stylish, but I just can't find the time or the energy to keep up with current fashions and shop all day like I used to. I'm not exactly sure why, but I have a few theories...

Maybe it's my age. I'm definitely no longer a "junior" but I'm not a "misses" either. After two kids, everything is lower, looser, and lumpier, so nothing fits as well. And I'm less willing to adapt quickly to changing styles. Just when I start to get comfortable with last season's trends, they're no longer fashionable.

Maybe it's the money. With a home to maintain and two kids to feed, dress, and entertain, I just can't justify spending a lot on clothes for myself. Plus I'm admittedly cheap when it comes to clothes...if I can't get something for Target or Old Navy prices, I'm not interested.

Maybe it's my lifestyle. Let's face it, I don't really need to look fashionable to take the kids to day care (especially now that the Jolie-Pitts have left town), go grocery shopping, or hang out at the park. And except for a few rare occasions, I don't have many social engagements that require me to dress up. There are no fashion police at Gattitown.

Whatever the reason, I've come to hate clothes shopping and I've got the closet to prove it. But with a trip to Vegas coming up next week, I'm determined to find at least a few new things to wear.

Wish me luck.
