Apparently, I will now be known as "poopie head." Or "tootie face"...or "poopie butt"...or one of the other, equally clever potty humor names that Gage began using on the way home from preschool today. He's a boy...he's almost 4...I guess it was inevitable. Of course I'm convinced it was "some kid at school" who introduced these foul names into his vocabulary...isn't it always someone else's kid who's to blame? It certainly couldn't have been my innocent angel who came up with it on his own (or...yikes...taught the other children)!
Now the dilemna... Do I scold him and insist that he stop using this language, or will that just encourage him to do it more? Or do I ignore it and let him get tired of it...when he's about 25? All you moms of boys (or do girls do this, too?), please vote in my poll and give me some guidance.
The era of potty talk has begun. Shit.

p.s. we say that talk is dirty and we need to WASH it out!! works for a few good months EVERY time...
A vocal warning was all I had to give L. But at school I tell my 4 yr. olds that it is inappropriate and will remove them from the group setting or the activity if it continues. They may return if they are ready to use their words correctly. If the potty talk is directed at me...that is a different story...more of a respect/disrespect type of issue...then again I may be too strict for some people with that issue b/c I don't respond to yeah...it is either yes/yes ma'am, or no ma'am...
Well, as Grammy of this little almost 4 yr old......I say ignore it.....too much attention and he will just continue because it gave him attention - negative or otherwise!!!! 4 yr olds do not care.......I am not much for soap in the mouth although if you ask his dad - my son - he probably remembers otherwise - but that was for my son - not my precious grandson!!!!!
